Back in 2013, when Christopher was 11, we rented a house at the New Jersey shore. I took my eyes off my son for just a minute. Thank God I found him right away, walking parallel to the water. It was a turning point in our lives.
Autistic children have a tendency to wander and are often drawn to water and statistics on them drowning are alarming. Because of this incident, we established this foundation which has enabled us to help other families with autistic children through autism awareness programs, financial assistance, first responder training and items, support local special education classrooms, and help to prevent wandering with search and locate equipment.
Christopher's Voice is a charitable foundation serving children in Westchester County only.
